Cami from 1982 till 1999...

Cami pvba was founded by Michel Casier in April 1982. As a wholesaler for the picture framer, Cami offered some products for the Belgian picture framers: aluminium profiles, black & gray cardboard, Canson & Daler-Rowney matboard, adhesive materials and clip-frames. Next to Cami, Michel Casier also had a retail shop in school and artist materials: "Huis Casier". So the first years Cami stayed in the building of the retail shop in the center of Oostende.
Year after year Cami grew and more and more products and brands were added to the range. Especially through the feedback of the customers, Cami succeeded in buying the best products and the best brands. The first big success came in 1985: the deal with Moorman Karton for the exclusive distribution of their matboard and museumboard in Belgium and Luxembourg.

In 1989 the next company made an important deal with Cami: Valiani. This Italian manufacturer of matcutters had confidence in Cami and offered her the exclusive distribution for Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. This was a big step for the ambitious wholesaler. In the meantime the young company had become a "teenager" with a nice turnover of 15.000.000 BEF (370.000 Euro). |
To be able to focus a full 100% on Cami, the retail shop "Huis Casier" was sold in 1990. Ever since, Cami only works as a wholesaler. In the fall of 1991 son Kris joined the family-business. Cami was transformed to a "nv". Father and son joined forces and started to enlarge the company. The renewed company moved to the Steenbakkersstraat, where it remained till the summer of 2004.
Day after day Cami searched on the framing market to find new and better products and machines for the picture framer. Important companies as Cassèse (machinery for the picture framer) and Senélar (mouldings) started a cooperation with Cami as an exclusive distributor.
